Hurricane Sally slammed into the Gulf Coast states of Florida and Alabama on September 16, 2020 as a powerful Category 2 storm, leaving behind damaging floods and destroyed homes and businesses. Among the cities affected, Gulf Shores, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida were some of the hardest hit areas, with over 500,000 without power.
